The Department of Veterans Affairs today announced specific exemptions to the hiring freeze. The exemptions include patient care positions in VA Medical Centers and Clinics, counseling positions, positions necessary to staff new facilities, and others. They also include staff working with burial of Veterans, and a limited number of mission support jobs required to staff/support the mission positions.
