Federal News Radio reported yesterday that CHCO Council Executive Director Kathryn Medina is stepping down after more than 4 years. I had the pleasure to work with Kathryn when I was DHS CHCO. She is a superb public servant, outstanding HR professional, and one of the most delightful people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Her shoes at OPM and the CHCO Council will be hard to fill.
Kathryn was one of the key leaders in establishment of the HR University, helped the CHCO Council become a far more cohesive and effective body, and represented the Federal HR community and the Federal workforce in many forums. While the CHCO Council does most of its work behind the scenes, it plays a critical role in shaping Federal workforce policy and practices. The Executive Director helps shape the work of the Council, works closely with the CHCOs, helps ensure working groups chartered by the Council have what they need to get their tasks accomplished, and performs countless additional tasks. It is a tough role and Kathryn has excelled in it.
Congratulations to Kathryn on her new job and best wishes for continued success.
